Students in this course work in groups to use their knowledge and skills in geographical information system (GIS) to solve the problems proposed by the partners. According to the goals identified by the partners and the course instructor, students will collect geographic data, analyze data, and visualize data. Eventually, students will create a final report and a presentation through ArcGIS StoryMap.

This program has been running for several years. Every year, we receive 100+ project proposals and work with 50+ partners. We will not be able to respond to messages on Riipen in a timely manner. So please follow the instructions below to be considered for the project.Quick summary: students take this course to develop a software application (web, mobile or desktop) for various use cases. Previous examples include mobile apps for finding travelers in a specific community and web-based applications for connecting a non-profit to volunteers. Undergraduates enrolled in a human resource management course as part of their Science, Business and Entrepreneurship minor will work in 4-5 person teams to solve a pressing global environmental challenge -,adapting research in STEM to HR practices. Integrating the latest scientific research with their learning in the course on human resource management, students will create audience specific and culturally relevant ways to communicate the scientific research on the environment relevant to the public, to farmers, to agro business owners, or to other students like themselves. Students can create products or services based on the latest scientific research in Chemistry, Biology or other environmental science research relevant for a particular human community.

1st year Masters students in accounting and finance in the Masters of Management of Public Accounting (MMPA) at the University of Toronto, Mississauga will work in teams of 6. they will use their course-relevant knowledge to conduct research on an industry and develop recommendations on how and whether to invest in the industry.

3rd and 4th Year business undergraduates specializing in Human Resources from the University of Toronto will work in teams of 3-4 students to conduct research on your compensation and benefits challenges. Based on the coursework, students will be able to conduct qualitative analyses of your compensation challenges. For example, they can conduct job evaluation, aligning new job descriptions into the existing compensation structure, or recommend additional benefits to your organization.
