Digital Borrowing System for Sustainable Resource Sharing

Regenesis Toronto aims to promote sustainability by encouraging the efficient use of shared resources within the community. The goal of this project is to create and manage a digital borrowing system that allows community members to easily access reusable items. This system will reduce waste and promote the reuse of items such as tools, books, and household goods. The project will involve designing a user-friendly web application that allows users to browse available items, reserve them, and track their borrowing history. The system should also include an administrative interface for managing inventory and user accounts. Chapter Development (Fall 2023)

The primary goal is to develop local chapters by organizing meetings, networking with activists, creating promotional materials, and maintaining a website with support from the main organization. This includes initiating and overseeing local initiatives, promoting community engagement, and ensuring regular communication with the main organization. Collaboration with the main organization is essential, especially in identifying potential funding sources, all aimed at advancing Regenesis' mission.

Circular Economy Initiatives & Events (Fall 2023)

The primary goal for this role is to lead and oversee the implementation of three key circular economy initiatives within our Reuse Centre: Free Store, Borrowing Centre, and Repair Café. These initiatives aim to eliminate wasteful practices, promote the principles of the circular economy, and contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future. Additionally, the role involves marketing and organizing events to enhance awareness and participation in these initiatives.
