Working with the IIBD was an amazing experience. I was able to gain a lot of skills and was given a tremendous amount of support on my projects. This was truly a safe space to learn and I cannot thank this team enough for this journey.

It was a great experience really valuable insight for future work experiences

Working with IIBD was a great experience for me personally. I also want to thank Riipen for this opportunity. I was able to build on my research skills and collaborated with other team members. I learnt a great deal about inclusive language barriers and ways to overcome as well as terminology and words associated with inclusion and diversity.

One thing that is notable about the IIBD is that they have a wonderful company culture. Leaders were very supportive and communicative. Despite being a contracted worker, I felt as much a part of the team as any other member. The company values of inclusivity regardless of a person's background shines through in day-today business operations. Teams are very cooperative and work together to complete tasks. I did some UI work as well as logo work, and attending team meetings helped me understand requirements and how to go about them.

My time with the IIBD allowed me to enhance multiple skillsets including communication, research, design, and leadership. I was able to increase my knowledge in many fields of expertise. I was adequately supported with my tasks throughout my time at the organization.

Working at IIBD was an amazing experience to me for a number of reasons. Firstly, the communication to convey the work and messages related to the work through weekly meetings were always on point. Secondly, got to know a lot about optimization of work flows as IIBD was never fixated on a particular solution for a problem and that was a very learning experience. Third and last among many others were the resources they provided, which were always easier to find and work on. So, this was my experience with IIBD.

Working with the team at Blogging from The Inclusivity Institute for Better Data (IIBD) on the Advance Ontario project has been an absolute pleasure. IIBD's dedication to inclusivity and their passion for advancing data literacy shines through in everything they do. It's been truly inspiring to witness their commitment to making a positive impact in the data community. The people around me that have completely immersed themselves in the work and to produce work that really spread the purpose around. Within my limited interactions through meetings everyone is really kind and sweet, they make the work environment safe and comfortable. They allowed me to take a chance on my creativity and encouraged it. The freedom to express different forms of spreading a message and educating was given. I really believe more work environments should adopt this method to encourage the employees to take risks.

A good place to work with but don't expect much for your efforts.

Great organization and very helpful leaders

If you are looking for an internship with a purpose, IIBD is for you. I was very impressed with the organizations mandate, enthusiasm and drive to support diversity, inclusivity and equity. The IIBD encourages you to think outside the box, be a leader, and to work collaboratively with a very dynamic group of people. You will learn how to communicate with your team members and manage your time through collaborative online platforms and give you a sense of what it is to work in an entirely remote work environment.

I loved this organization so much that I stayed to volunteer. 10/10 reccomend

Working with IIBD at the Inclusivity Institute has been eye-opening. I've learned about the power of disaggregated data in uncovering disparities and promoting inclusivity. Collaborating with the diverse team has also taught me valuable lessons in teamwork and communication. Overall, it's been a fantastic experience that has deepened my understanding of inclusivity and its importance in our work.

Great communication, even though they were really busy they encouraged me to communicate with them about the tasks at any given time. Nice company to work at, a lot of new exciting projects and an independant working mondset that I loved.

Working on the website redesign with the organization was a highly rewarding experience. The collaborative environment and open communication facilitated a smooth process and significant personal growth. I valued the constructive feedback from senior team members, which sharpened my design skills and deepened my understanding of user-centric development. Using advanced tools like Figma and engaging in user testing directly contributed to the project’s success and my professional development. I am grateful for the mentorship received and look forward to future opportunities to collaborate.

There was excellent correspondence between every member of the team and an even distribution of tasks. We had regular meetings to discuss possible deliverables and clarify tasks. It was easy to ask other team members for assistance with no sign of condescension . Overall IIBD has an outstanding work culture and effective team management.

It was good, though, but we need more support and communication with the employers. It is good to be consistent with the meetings, and maybe we can meet in person to have real engagement.

During my time with IIBD, not only did I learn a lot about the field of communications, but I also learned about the value of time management and effective communication. Everyone at IIBD was always welcoming and professional, ensuring a seamless transition into my role. The employers also made sure that every question I had was answered and that there was no confusion on my part during my role.

Was able to learn a lot through this project, developing my collaboration skills and strengthening my design abilities. I enjoyed the opportunity to promote the organization through the content I created and participate in meaningful initiatives.

My research was stolen and the company blocked my access to my created documents and never responded to any messages.

They really weren't accessible and communicated poorly.

The Inclusivity Institute for Better Data is an amazing company. Their efforts of partnering with Bay Path University gave me an insightful opportunity to become a more rounded leader and cultural learner. I was able to reach out to potential stakeholders who can further push their message across about the gamification black renters face in the Toronto area. This research and insight allowed me to see the bigger picture about systemic racial issues in place and the long-term and harmful effects this can have on families. Thank you for this amazing opportunity to learn and teach others about all of this information, I have grown so much over the past five weeks!

I really admire the mission of this organization and thought the employer that I worked with was extremely helpful throughout this process. She was able to answer any question that we had in a timely manner so that we could complete our project to the best of our abilities.
