2024 Level Up Facilitator B - Introduction to Indigenous Facilitation

This Level Up Project is for Indigenous meeting facilitators who wish to learn and develop their facilitating skills across cultures. This is an 80-hour project and a prerequisite for additional Facilitation projects.This is part of a gradual multi-step learning experience in Indigenous perspectives training and facilitation. Depending on experience and progression students may leap to another project.This project is designed for people who identify as Indigenous.Project Details: Students will engage with 6 Indigenous Perspectives videos, complete corresponding reflection pages for each, and attend respective team meetings.Students will begin to familiarize themselves with IISB’s purpose and objectives, overall project missions, the Indigenous Perspectives team, as well as other IISB family members.Students will shadow and work alongside the Communications and Indigenous Perspectives teams to develop the skills to facilitate meetings effectively and become guardians to Indigenous Speakers and Knowledge Carriers from around the globe.The goal of this project is to help students reframe their approach to event planning and facilitation while developing an understanding of event coordination logistics and procedures within an Indigenous organization.Students who complete this trainee-level of facilitation training will then be eligible to go on to the next trainee-level of facilitation projects; whilst being prepared for apprentice-level projects.
