What is the main goal for this project?

In recent years, managers of our company have observed a decrease in the life cycle of our employees. Previously, individuals progressed through one or more roles within the organization over 2-5 years before leaving and moving onto new organizations. However, we are unable to pinpoint the exact reason for this.

Tasks include:

  • Conducting research on current human resources and workforce trends to determine common reasons people are leaving their jobs today.
  • Formulate (number) strategies to reduce turnover in the company based on the common reasons for turnover that were found in the research stage.
  • Decide on the best strategy based on its predicted effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and the logistics of putting the strategy in action.
  • Students will create a report detailing their research findings, as well as an implementation plan for each strategy they explored.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Created a report detailing;

    • Current human resources and workforce trends (why turnover commonly occurs today).
    • The (number) strategies formulated to combat reasons found in the research stage).
    • Strategy implementation plans.
  • Completed a 20 minute presentation for (staff watching the presentation) detailing each solution, and the process behind how they chose the best solution.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Including competitor human resources information as part of reasoning in the report and/or presentation.

Final deliverables should include

  • The report including all sections mentioned above.
  • Presentation slides in a shareable format.
  • A Zoom (Google Meet/Teams/etc) call for students to present their findings.

How will you support learners in completing the project?

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • The general timeframe that solutions need to be implemented in.
  • The amount of resources being devoted to reducing turnover within the company.
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
