One of the most important aspects of starting a position in a new company is the onboarding process. In addition to making us a more compelling firm to work with than our competition, we want our onboarding process to promote our company culture to accelerate the learning curve of working for us and increase our client retention.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Discuss our onboarding practices with current clients to determine their effectiveness and where improvement is needed.
  • Research our own as well as competitors’ current onboarding practices.
  • Research which onboarding practices are best at reaching clients and making a lasting impact.
  • Create a report detailing all research findings and a new onboarding plan for our company.
  • Reporting on cost estimates and allocating funds in the most efficient way.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Speaking to clients to determine which areas of our onboarding are impactful, and which are unnecessary.
  • Researching onboarding processes and what the most effective methods of onboarding are to make a lasting impact.
  • Create a report detailing all research findings and a new onboarding plan for our company.
  • Created a strategic onboarding plan based on all research conducted.
  • Created a presentation to be presented to the project manager.
  • Reporting on cost estimates and allocating funds in the most efficient way.

Final deliverables should include

  • A standardized onboarding plan which is efficient, cost effective, and promotes our company culture and values.
  • A 20-minute presentation explaining the onboarding plan and its benefits, to be presented in a meeting with the project manager.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • What values do we strive to uphold as a part of company culture?
  • What are the current onboarding procedures and events for a new hire?
  • Which areas of the current onboarding procedure work well? Which areas need the most improvement?
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else you may encounter.
