What is the main goal for this project?

Digital Human Library (dHL) is looking for an individual(s) to conduct research about the public library market, source and record contract information for public libraries in the dHL database, and lead outreach activities with public libraries to build awareness about dHL's Virtual Tours and Virtual Reality experiences. Interns will be invited to join public libraries and the dHL team for learning sessions about how virtual tours and virtual reality experiences are being used for teaching, learning, enjoyment, and skill building. This position will help students develop their online research skills, communication and collaboration skills, digital literacy skills, technology skills, and global competencies.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

Project Tasks:

  • Meet with the dHL team for training.
  • Research information about the public library market based on set criteria provided by dHL
  • Record contact information for public libraries using the spreadsheet provided
  • Review draft outreach materials and personalize materials based on each public library's mission and goals
  • Maintain database (spreadsheet) of public library contact information based on outreach efforts
  • Follow up on outreach by email, and/or phone call until contact is made
  • Introduce public library contact to designated member of the dHL Team
  • Participate in dHL learning sessions about the virtual tours and virtual reality industry
  • Collaborate with the dHL Team
