- What is the main goal for this project?

We have been hard at work for a decade building exciting solutions through sustainable businesses (both not-for-profit and for profit) - now, we're looking to demonstrate the financial impact of our work. This is a fun and exciting challenge - we are looking for students that have the skills to not only develop a financial business plan, but also understand how to leverage both quantitative and qualitative research to build a sound case study around business valuation.
We are looking for students who can demonstrate:
- How financial management in not-for-profit or public sector organizations differs from the for-profit environment and how we can demonstrate social impact vis-a-vis economic impact
- Designing a unique, hybrid model that combines both the economic impact and social impact of not-for-profit and for-profit initiatives
- Demonstrating the ROI on social impact work
Based on our unique goals and constraints, we would like students to develop a strong, competitive financial business plan, which we can present to investors.
The plan should include:
- Sales forecasting
- Expense budget
- Income projections (conservative and aggressive)
- Assets and liabilities
- Break-even analysis
- A combination of both impact measured through finances and impact measured through social change
