Details

We need to develop an ESG policy for our company and would like to have a group of students research and design the policy layout based on ESG "best practices" within our industry. This project would be a group project that would include potentially having one student for each component of the policy (Environment, Social, & Governance) and another student to design the framework and layout of the policy itself.

Students should expect to complete the following scope:

  • Identify similar policies that have been implemented within our industry.
  • Research and Identify 'best practices' for all aspects of the Policy (Environment, Social & Governance) as they pertain to our industry.
  • Create a materiality assessment that focuses on the key ESG issues and opportunities most likely to affect our business performance and stakeholders.
  • Analyze gaps in existing state of business and objectives/goals.
  • Develop a strategic ESG roadmap and framework
  • Create documented policy with best practices and processes.

Mentorship

This project will be supervised by several members of our Executive Leadership team and will include regular meetings to discuss objectives, findings and development of the project. We will schedule regular meetings to walk through work done on the project and provide constructive feedback and suggestions. Students can work in either the Calgary or Edmonton office or will have the option of working remote, depending on their location. Access to supervisors will be available on a daily basis, as needed, and communication will be available both on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis. Direct supervision will be provided by the Director of Corporate Affairs, and VP of Business & Resource Development with additional feedback being provided by the Chief Operating Officer.
