What is the main goal for this project?

Positions available: Civil engineering undergrad or master's student interns.

Phase I. 4 groups of students (2 or 3 in each) will study the following topics:

1. Specified Wind Load for Building Main Structure

2. Specified Wind Load for Building Wall Cladding

3. Specified Seismic Load for Building Main Structure

4. Specified Seismic Load for Building Wall Cladding

Phase II. First Group joins with Third whereas Second Group joins with Forth to conduct the following:

1. Comparative Analysis - Specified Wind Load vs Specified Seismic Load for Building Main Structure

2. Comparative Analysis - Specified Wind Load vs Specified Seismic Load for Building Wall Cladding

Phase III. All participating students join to compare Main Structure and Wall Cladding (design concepts and methods for calculating specified loads - from NBCC 2020) and to write the Final Paper.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Data research and analysis.
  • Report.
  • Presentation.

Ultimately, you will help to improve our company products supporting growth.

The next phase of this project - is the development of an automated Excel Spreadsheet for Specified Loads on Wall Cladding to NBC2020 (Freeware Utility for Canadian Structural Engineers)
