Companies present students with a specific project, and the Student Innovation Centre will facilitate the matching of talent from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds.


Upon successful completion of an Experience Ventures Project, student participants receive a stipend valued at $825.

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. Deliverables will be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.


Project Examples

YourBeat Inc., a company dedicated to empowering artists and revolutionizing the music industry, partnered with the University of Alberta's Experience Ventures Program to collaborate on innovative projects. These projects aimed to enhance their platform and community, connecting artists, vendors, and venues.


23-24 Projects undertaken included:


Website Development (Front End):

  • Developed a user-friendly website interface with SQL databases, API integrations, and Python AI.


Database Management (Back End - Artists):

  • Created comprehensive backend databases for artists, venues, vendors, and fan data management.


Social Media Integration:

  • Established brand presence and engagement strategies across social media platforms.


External Chat and Group Function Integration:

  • Designed decentralized chat and group functionalities for community interaction.


AI Sections (Various AI Projects):

  • Developed AI solutions for music similarity, musician post analysis, homepage layout, and more.


Blockchain/Cryptocurrency Integration:

  • Integrated cryptocurrency options for transactions within the music community.
